The country's biggest auto fest, the Auto Expo 2014 has thrown open the gates to the common public. Day one witnessed close to 60000 visitors on day one itself! From past 11 years, the event has been providing a great platform for Indian and International car makers to showcase their new cars or concept models. Organizers of the event have been quoted as saying, that this year's event shall be biggest one held till date.
Sugato Sen, deputy director general of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, stated, “The 2014 auto show is the largest in terms of participation. As many as 47 automobile manufacturers have confirmed their presence. The increase in the number of participants has made us increase the exhibit area by 45 per cent this year to 64,000 square metres. There will be 14 pavilions to display vehicles and three hangars”. The 12 Auto Expo event has received a good amount of response this year.
This numbers have taken a considerable jump from the 47 vehicles that were showcased and launched during the 2012 Auto Expo event. The ongoing event is considered to be the largest auto show in any subcontinent. It is said that 47 companies have participated in this year's Auto expo event.
