According to Mr. Mallya, the F1 event will increase the popularity of this lesser known sport among Indians. The event has been meeting with an overwhelming response from the Indian motorsport enthusiasts. There was a rush of enthusiasts for the tickets of the tournament as soon as ticket sales were opened.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mallya is all set to select the best driver through ‘a billion young driver hunt’. He said that he made the decision to begin a driver hunt in India about 18 months ago. Last week the top 10 youngsters completed their final assessments based on driving talent, fitness and media training, at Silverstone.
