For decades now, the Mustang from Ford has been a popular name in the performance car segment. However, the company introduced the Mustang brand across the global markets in 2015 and there has been no looking back for the popular model since then. This time around, the Mustang has earned the title of the best-selling sports coupe in the world for the third time in a row.

In terms of figures, Ford has sold 1,25,809 units of the Mustang in 146 countries last year. Moreover, the company has sold 13,100 Mustangs in Europe in 2017, and a total of 35,000 units since its European launch in 2015. From the nearly 1,26,000 vehicle units which are registered worldwide, Ford reported that 81,866 of those were registered in the United States. Interestingly, the Mustang is also a popular choice in the world’s largest automotive market, China, with 7,125 registrations.

The 2018 Ford Mustang and special edition Mustang BULLITT will also GO on sale later this year. The American car manufacturer claims that the new model is the quickest Mustang GT to date. Reports indicate that the new Mustang GT sprints from 0 - 100kmph in less than four seconds. It will be powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine that generates 454bhp of power and 569Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission with a new electronic drag mode. The new Mustang GT will also get the line lock feature and a new styling pack. The 2019 Mustang Bullit was also recently spotted testing internationally. The Mustang Bullitt packs a retuned 5.0-litre V8 engine that will deliver at least 475 horsepower while the speed will be limited to around 270kmph.
