Ford India to launch Figo twins and Endeavour SUV this year

Ford India is aiming to launch a series of new cars in the Indian car market this year. The company will introduce the new Figo hatchback and the new-gen Figo based compact sedan in India this year. The Figo sedan aka Ka+ sedan is already on sale in the Brazilian market. Moreover, the company will also launch the new-generation Endeavour SUV.

      Ford Figo

It was rumoured that the Figo twins would be powered by Ford's award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. However, the vehicles might, instead, get the 1.2-litre petrol engine that powers the current Figo. The EcoBoost motor will be expensive, and it would be difficult for the company to price the turbocharged engine equipped Figo competitively. The company will tweak the 1.2-litre engine to improve the overall performance and efficiency. The oil burner would be the 1.5-litre DV5 turbo-diesel engine that also powers the EcoSport SUV.

      Ford Endeavour

The Figo compact sedan will first hit the Indian market in Q2, 2015, while the Figo compact sedan will be launched by the festive season (October). The Endeavour SUV will be launched in the country by the end of this year. The India-bound Endeavour will be offered in diesel version only. Internationally, the SUV is available in three engine options - a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol, a 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCi diesel and a 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine.

The above-4 metre version of the Figo sedan has been spotted testing several times, but that could be the export model.
