Statistics released by Ford India suggest that the recently launched EcoSport compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) has significantly contributed to the sales count, helping the company to achieving second best sales month in 2013. Ford India has been able to export 3057 cars in August 2013 as opposed 2,512 units sold in the same month last year. Incredibly, exports have risen by a staggering rate of 22 per cent. In the Indian domestic market, Ford India sold 8008 vehicles in August 2013 as compared to the 7840 units sold in same period of 2012, registering a 2 per cent increase.

Commenting on the performance of the company, Anurag Mehrotra, Vice President of Sales for Ford India, said “We’re grateful and thankful to Indian customers for their response to the all-new EcoSport. Despite the sustained difficult business environment, we have recorded our second highest monthly sales this year. True to our Global Brand Promise, we will continue to provide products with Quality, Green, Safe and Smart attributes that consumers want and value.” He further added “We appreciate our customers' patience as we work hard to meet the ever-increasing demand for Ford cars, and we thank them for their continued trust and patronage.”

The company is also expanding its sales and service network to tier II and tier III cities by extending its dealership network. Recently, the company inaugurated two dealerships in Solan and Kochi as part of its strategy to reach different parts of India. These new additions now takes Ford India's tally to 265 sales and service outlets located in 142 cities throughout. Mehrotra was quoted as saying “The opening of new dealerships in second and third-tier towns shows how we’re committed to bringing world-class services and our line-up of global One Ford vehicles closer to our customers across the country.”

The company has also opened a Quick Lane Service centre in Surat, which is aimed at offering better customer satisfaction experience. This service centre is based on giving a prompt response to customers by quickly repairing minor faults. It also offers routine maintenance checks without prior appointment, thereby enabling fast and customer-friendly service. Ford India is also gearing up for the festive season by launching various customer initiatives across different parts of the country starting with Chingam in Kerala.
