Just days ahead of Avventura’s debut in Indian market, exclusive details have been leaked related to the crossover’s features and other specifications . Avventura range will include five variants including twp petrol trims namely Active and Dynamic and three diesel variants, viz; Active Dynamic and Emotion.
The Punto Evo based crossover will measure 3,989 mm long, 1,706 mm wide, 1,542 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,510 mm. Kerb weight of petrol variants vary range between 1190 kg to 1195 kg while diesel trims weigh between 1240 to 1255kg. Equipments being offered as standard fitment in all variants comprise of central locking, roof rack, external wheel, dual-tone dashboard, alloy wheels, front power windows, foldable key, compass and inclinometer. Along with the aforementioned features, additional equipment available such as Anit-Lock-Braking system with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, airbags for front passenger and driver, foglights, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, remote keyless entry, music system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls will be incorporated in the range topping, Emotion trim.
There will be two engine options-1.4 litre ‘FIRE’ petrol engine and 1.3 litre ‘Multijet’ diesel engine. The 1.4 litre petrol engine outputting 90 PS of maximum power at 6000 RPM and 115 Nm of peak torque at 4500 RPM will power petrol variants. As per tests conducted by ARAI, petrol powered Avventura can deliver 14.1 kms on a litre which is decent.
Diesel range will house 1.3 litre Multijet diesel powertrain capable of developing pinnacle power of 93 PS at 4000 RPM along with top torque of 209 Nm at 2000 RPM. Coming to the fuel economy returned by diesel Avventura, according to ARAI figures, it can run up to 20.5 kmpl. A five-speed manual transmission will be matched to both petrol and diesel engines.
Hatchback based crossover segment is new in India, currently it has just two options, Volkswagen Cross Polo and Toyota Etios Cross. With the launch of Fiat Avventura the segment will get a new entrant. On the price front, a hypothetical price ranging between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh is being expected for the crossover.
