Ducati India is going to launch the XDiavel at Rs 15.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This litre-class cruiser will be available in two versions, with the top-spec XDiavel S demanding a premium of Rs 18.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The XDiavel has been based on a brand new steel tubular trellis frame with a single-sided swingarm. Powering it is a Testastretta L-Twin engine, borrowed from the Ducati Multistrada. This state of the art 1262cc liquid-cooled mill delivers 155bhp and 129Nm of torque to the rear wheel through a belt drive.The ergonomics have been completely revised to offer a more laidback riding position. The electronics package includes cornering ABS, traction control, rider modes a launch control system.
The XDiavel justifies its higher sticker price with a different set of wheels, a bluetooth module, infotainment system and a more premium seat. It is also available in a glossy black colour, as opposed to the standard version’s matte black paint scheme.
With deliveries set to commence in September, the XDiavel can be booked for a token of Rs 2 lakh. With this price tag, the XDiavel will share the market space with the likes of Triumph Thunderbird Storm and the Harley-Davidson Breakout.
