Ducati – the Italian manufacturer has already announced that it will re-launch its operations in India by March 18, 2015. The company is expected to launch its entire range of motorcycles in the Indian market. Its latest offering, Scrambler Ducati, is expected to be priced in between 7 to 10 lakhs INR. This model is a lifestyle bike, which has been re-launched by the company keeping in mind the legacy of the old model.

The first model of Ducati Scrambler was introduced in 1962 and it soon turned out to be a series of single-cylinder scrambler motorcycles, with a number of engine displacements. Improved frames, wide engine case and some other modifications were introduced from 1968. These motorbikes were produced as long as 1974 and this bike forms the basis of the latest Scrambler Ducati.

The New Scrambler Ducati has four different models, based on one platform. The models have been christened as Full Throttle, Urban Enduro, Classic and Icon. These have been assembled on tubular steel trellis frame with around Kayaba suspension-setup, which has 41 mm inverted forks. The Scrambler Ducati runs on different types of 18 inches front and 17 inches rear wheels. The front wheel has been equipped with a 330 mm disc and 4-piston radial calliper, while the rear wheel gets a single piston floating calliper. All the models have been provided with ABS assistance for a perfect braking experience.

The Scrambler Ducati series of motorcycles gets a really appealing appearance, which blends classic and modern styling. A retro style tear drop steel tank with interchangeable aluminium side panels has been provided. The round headlight, which lent a classic touch to the bike, gets a modern touch in LED ring-like form to appear as a positioning lamp.

Another important evolution in the Scrambler range is the elimination of mono-cylinder motors. The Scrambler Ducati range of motorcycles is powered by the same 803 cc Desmodromic L-Twin engine, which also propels the renowned Monster 796. The air-cooled engine has been detuned to give a more refined touch. With an electronic fuel-injection system, it generates a maximum of 75 hp at 8250 rpm and a torque up to 68 Nm at 5750 rpm. The engine has been provided with a smooth six-speed transmission using APTC (Adler Power Torque Clutch), reducing the clutch lever effort.
