Tata Motors is readying its new breed of cars, which company hopes will help it regain its lost market share in the Indian passenger car market. The homegrown automaker is planning to launch a series of new cars and facelifts of existing cars in near future. Under its HORIZONEXT umbrella, the company has introduced the Zest compact sedan and Bolt hatchback. Both models have received decent response from buyers. The company will soon introduce a new entry-level hatchback to replace the ageing Indica eV2. Tata Motors is working on an all-new project- the Kite, which includes two cars - a compact hatch and sub-compact sedan.

The Kite hatchback has already been spotted testing on several times on Indian roads. According to sources, the hatchback will go on sale in our market by the mid-2015. Compared to the Indica eV2, the new small car will get more premium interiors and stylish exteriors. The vehicle will get the new Tata signature grille with the ‘Humanity Line’ that flows and merges into the new headlamps. Moreover, the rear profile of the car is completely new and looks more appealing than other Tata cars. It features a sloping roofline and rear windshield, integrated spoiler, new defogger and new taillamps.

The Kite hatchback will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the oil burner will be an all-new 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder engine that is good for 64bhp and 140Nm of torque, the petrol engine will be the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre unit.
