      Korean car-maker Hyundai has been a prominent name in the Indian automotive industry since decades. The freshest of the Verna lot from Hyundai named as 'Verna GL' imbibes the Fludic design philosophy that makes this sedan a pure charmer and distinctive. The sedan is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Apart from adding a new variant to the sedan’s line-up, the company has discontinued six of Verna’s variants which include three petrol and three diesel trims. The automatic variants of Hyundai Verna SX (O), and EX that were powered by 1.6 litre VTVT engine have been discontinued for the Indian market. In addition to this, Hyundai has also discontinued the 1.6 litre CRDI Automatic and 1.4 litre CRDI EX variant. With the launch of a new GL variant, the basic 1.4 litre petrol and diesel trims have also been discontinued by the Korean car-maker.

      The newly introduced Hyundai Verna GL is powered by a 1.4 litre VTVT motor that generates a max power output of about 105 Bhp with a top torque of about 138 Nm. Whereas, the Diesel variant gets a 1.4 litre CRDI power-train that produces a maximum power of about 89 Bhp with 224 Nm of peak torque. The engine in the Petrol as well as the Diesel variants are mated to a five speed manual gearbox and six speed transmission respectively.

      The front fascia of the Hyundai Verna sports two-piece bezel design headlamps with freshly added LED positioning lamps that provide maximum luminance during nighttime driving. The sedan sports fine fog lamps that blends with the wide and bold grill. The flowing design of the bonnet showcases the powerful machine under the hood. The rear combination lamps at the rear leaves a light trail for better visibility to following traffic.

      The GL variant of Verna is loaded with standard features like keyless entry, a 2 Din Audio system, electric power-steering with tilt function, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, and manual air conditioner. The GL trim has been introduced as a replacement to the basic 1.4 litre Petrol and Diesel variants of Verna. The Petrol version of Verna GL variant is priced at Rs 7.17 lakh, whereas the diesel version is tagged at Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom price).
