      Datsun on-DO sedan launched in Russia at 329000 Rubles

      Three months after its official unveiling, Datsun has launched on-Do sedan in Russia priced at 329000 rubles equivalent to Rs 5.75 lakh. Launched earlier this week, the sedan has been rolled out in three trim levels- Access, Dream and Trust. The vehicle is expected to be made available at dealerships by mid July. The vehicle has been styled in Datsun’s native country, Japan while the technical detailing has been done in Russia. Production of the sedan will be carried out at AvtoVAZ Tolyatti manufacturing facility.

      Developed exquisitely for the Russian automotive market, the sedan is offered in four door body style and has a capacity to accommodate five adults comfortably.

      Possessing substantially large dimensions-4.3 meter length, 1.5 metre height, 1.7 meter width, 174 mm ground clearance and 530 litre booth space, the sedan is a capacious offering. Under the hood, is a 1.6 litre petrol engine that has been tweaked to offer two states of tunes- 82 Hp and 87 Hp. Rear seats can be folded completely which allows to create more space inside the vehicle when required. Equipments embedded inside the sedan include tilt adjustable electric power steering, heated front seats, other features made available for the safety of occupants include driver airbag, spare wheel, attachment system for child seats Isofix, Anti-Lock-braking-System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake assist. After the launch of on-Do sedan, Datsun will roll out mi-DO hatchback in Russia which is yet under development stage.

      Nissan’s low cost brand, ‘Datsun’ has also been launched in India, the first vehicle to be launched under the frugal brand is Go hatchback. Datsun will also launch Go+ compact MPV in domestic market by year end. Datsun might also bring a sedan in India, however it could be a sub-four meter offering unlike Russia-spec on-DO sedan.
