Audi India is in the final line of conduct before it launches its eagerly awaited A3 sedan in India. The vehicle has been highly anticipated in India primarily for its affordable starting price that is expected to be around Rs 22 lakh to Rs 23 lakh. This is going to be by far the cheapest offering by Audi in India. With A3 launch, Audi will also induct a new segment for affordable luxury premium cars in domestic market. The test drive for the frugal offering will be soon conducted in the ‘City of Lakes’, Udaipur, followed by the launch in August.

The low pricing of the sedan will enable it to contour not just other premium saloons but vehicles that fall in this price range. Audi A3 is likely to undercut its rivals including offerings like Toyota Camry, Honda’s upcoming Accord and Volkswagen Passat among others. An affordable offering from Audi at the same price could result in deviating sales of the aforementioned vehicles towards itself. Audi will launch A3 in both petrol and diesel engine options, a 2.0 litre TDI diesel motor and a 1.8 litre TFSI engine will power the A3 range. Audi will bring the saloon in India through CKD route and will assemble it at its manufacturing facility located in India. The low price tag also hints at some of the cliché Audi equipments going missing in A3. More details will be unveiled during the launch next month.
