Craftsman , America ’s Most Trusted Tool Brand, will debut its CTX Tractor at the upcoming North American International Auto Show, popularly known as the Detroit Auto Show. For the first time in the history of Detroit Auto Show, a tractor will be showcased. The CTX tractor will be offered in as a garden and a yard model.

Kris Malkoski, Vice President and General Manager of the Craftsman brand said, "We are launching this new line of Craftsman tractors because homeowners with larger lawns and more rugged terrains want a durable, high-performance tractor mower to help them maintain a beautiful lawn."

The presence of the CTX at the show does not mean that the organisers are facing troubles in getting exhibitors. In fact, Craftsman is one of the sponsors of the show and the company’s tractor will be displayed in the lobby and not in the exhibition area.

Joe Rohatynski, the auto show’s spokesperson said, “We do welcome them as a sponsor. It’s more of a marketing relationship.” He added that, “They’ll be on the concourse along with Hot Wheels, several universities, banks, the food court, the History Channel.”

The CTX is powered by a 30 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. The vehicle’s top speed is 13 kmph, while its reverse top speed is 5 kmph. Explaining about the reason behind bringing a tractor to the show, Kris Malkoski said, "Because Detroit has given us great performing cars with best-in-class features; we think it is logical to bring a tractor to the Auto Show that does the same.”

According to the company, the tractor is “fully loaded with automotive-inspired features”. The other features prominent features of the tractor are electronic cutting height adjustment, quick deck removal, automatic traction control and electronic fuel management.
