At a time when footballs enthusiasts are under the grip of FIFA fever, Chevrolet has decided to roll out Manchester United themed special editions of Beat and U-VA in India in the upcoming week. These special editions were showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, held in the month of February. The special editions of both the cars are likely to be available for sale soon after its launch in India that is expected to take place within a week. It has been learnt that these special editions of Beat and U-VA will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. Since Chevrolet is the official sponsor of the club therefore, the Manchester themed special editions of Beat and U-VA will be introduced in colors of the Manchester United Football team, a vivid red color.
Additions made to special editions include club’s logo on the bonnet, side profiles and inside the cabin. Chic body decals will also be seen on the side profile, a chrome lining has been bestowed on the front grille, body colored ORVMs, roof rails and a set of alloy wheels sum up the modifications on the exterior front.
Complementing the exterior body color, seats will be covered in black and red (leather seat covers), other offerings inside the cabin comprise of a leather wrapped steering wheel, a 2-DIN music system with four speakers and Bluetooth connectivity, illuminated LED scuff plates and reverse parking sensors.
Mechanically the special editions will continue to be equipped with the same set of engines as housed in the standard models. A 1.2 litre petrol/LPG motor engendering a top power of 79 Bhp and peak torque of 108 Nm will be equipped in the petrol trims; while the diesel variants will get the 936 cc powertrain capable of producing 57 Bhp of maximum power and 150 Nm of top torque. Chevrolet U-VA petrol trims will be packed with the same engine outputting enhanced power of 86 Bhp. Diesel U-VA on the other hand will get the 1.3 litre Multijet engine sourced from Fiat generating peak power and torque output of 77 Bhp and 205 Nm respectively. A five-speed manual gearbox will be mated to both the engines.
