General Motors India Private Limited (GMIPL), the country's fifth largest passenger car maker, is all set to launch its new premium hatchback in the domestic market, under the moniker 'Chevrolet Sail U-VA' on November 2, 2012. The Sail U-VA hatch is actually a brainchild of the American auto giant's Chinese Joint Venture (JV) partner – SAIC Motor Corporation. The American auto giant is working hard towards refurbishing its brand image among the Indian car enthusiasts and has devised a plan to strategically introduce fresh new products, which are compliant with the domestic needs regularly. Starting with facelifted Chevrolet Spark and fresh Sail U-VA, the company is expected to bring a new Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) – Enjoy and a compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) – Chevy Trax soon on the Indian turf as well.

Recently, General Motors launched a facelifted version of its popular entry-level small car, the Chevy Spark in Indian passenger car market on October 25, 2012. The upcoming Sail U-VA is believed to be a state-of-the-art product, bundled with several premium interior and exterior attributes. The much awaited Chevy Sail U-VA was unveiled for the first time to Indian audience at the New Delhi Auto Expo held in January 2012.

Reportedly, the Sail U-VA hatch has been pronounced a volume puller in several international markets, such as China, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt and few countries of North Africa. Remarkably, in month of July 2012, the Chevy Sail U-VA became the most exported four wheeler in China and General Motors recorded some 40,000 units of the car leaving Chinese soil.
