Chevrolet Beat Diesel, one of the most awaited compact cars that is all set to mark its debut in the month of July this year, is making it to headlines in the Indian auto market even before its launch. Recently, some automotive media groups managed to test drive this car and posted all the details and specs of the model.
The Chevrolet Beat Diesel will come blessed with a 936cc, 3-cylinder diesel engine, which is capable of delivering a massive Torque of 150Nm. Moreover, the car will be delivering a segment leading fuel economy of 24 kmpl, the news reports claim. Besides the engine, one more thing that differentiates the Beat diesel from its petrol counterpart is its power steering. The Beat petrol model comes featured with hydraulic power steering.
The Beat diesel model will be carrying a starting price tag of Rs 4 lakh, which means it will be one of the cheapest cars in its segment. Once launched, the Beat diesel model will be taking on with the likes of Maruti Swift and Ritz, Nissan Micra, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Fiat Punto. Considering the expanding gap between price of petrol and diesel fuels, the Beat diesel would be receiving an overwhelming response from the buyers of this segment.
