The much-anticipated Audi A3 sedan will be launched in the month of August, 2014. The vehicle has already been spotted several times during its test runs on Indian roads and the media drives for the sedan will commence from 9th of July.
Audi A3 sedan will open a new segment in the luxury car segment and it will sit between the premium hatchbacks and the A4 sedan. Initially, there will be no competition for the sedan in the market; however, Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch the CLA sedan in the country by the year end. The A3 sedan will be the company’s cheapest offering in the country. The dealers have received an overwhelming response from prospective buyers, while the bookings for the model are likely to start from July, 2014.
The Audi A3 will come in both petrol and diesel engines which includes a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol that produces 168 bhp and a 2.0-litre TDI motor producing 150bhp. Both the engines will be paired to Audi’s S-Tronic dual clutch transmission. The vehicle is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 22-26 lakh.
