Rolls Royce Motor Cars, the ultra luxury car manufacturer has launched a new variant of its popular luxury car – Rolls Royce Ghost – in the Indian market on Wednesday. The new Ghost variant carries a price tag of Rs 3.05 crore, making it one of the most expensive offering in the Rolls Royce India portfolio. Powered by a 6.6L petrol engine, the all new Rolls Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase, will be available for sale in the Indian market soon.
Speaking to the reporters on the occasion, Rolls-Royce India Business Development Head Herfried Hasenoehrl, said, "Demand for luxury cars is growing in India and we want to tap the market with the launch of the new Ghost model."
While keeping quite on the question of expected sales numbers by the company for the new Ghost variant, Mr. Hasenoehrl said that the company expects the new Ghost Extended Wheelbase to be the every third car it sells in India. "I can't say the exact numbers, but we are very optimistic for this year. We are working on how we can expand this market," he said.
Receiving a considerably good response from the buyers in the Indian market, the firm is now looking forward to expand its sales network in the country. "India is one of the major markets for us in Asia. Therefore, we are looking at enhancing our distribution," Mr. Hasenoehrl said.
