Luxury car manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz will launch the new C-Class sedan in the Indian car market tomorrow. Unveiled in early 2014, the new C-Class is already on sale in select European and American markets. Set to rival Audi A4 sedan and BMW 3-Series, the all-new saloon gets similar design language offered on the 2014 S-Class; however, the sedan gets restyled interiors.

Based on the all-new platform, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will come as the CBU route. Only C200 CGI petrol variant will be launched first, while the oil burner is expected to come by early 2015. It is expected that new C-Class will get a limited launch edition, which is likely to get a body kit including AMG-spec wheels and an Avantgarde grille.

Under the bonnet is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit that is capable of producing a top power output of 184bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm. This engine is paired to a 7G Tronic AT gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels of the saloon. The C200 CDI diesel variant will come by early 2015, and the new C-Class local production is also expected to commence sometime next year. The oil burner is the 2.2-litre four-pot engine that churns out a maximum power output of 170bhp and 400Nm of top torque. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via the 7G Tronic AT transmission.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 35-45 lakh. An AMG-spec model is also likely to come India, but not before mid-2015. The company will also launch the standard CLA model in the Indian car market.
