      All new BMW X3 to be launched today

      Country’s number one luxury car maker BMW is geared-up to launch its long awaited X3 sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the Indian auto market today. The SUV is speculated to be carrying a price tag of Rs 42.2 lakh in the country and will be competing with the likes of Mercedes Benz GLK Class and recently launched Audi Q5. The vehicle is expected to be rolled-out in both petrol and diesel versions.

      The major rival of the all new BMW X3 model will be the just launched Audi Q5 SUV. Audi has raised the competition in this segment with offering the Q5 business edition with a competitive price tag of 35.13 lakh (ex-showroom price).

      The petrol version of the new BMW X3 will be carrying a 2.5L, xDrive25i engine unit at its heart. The efficient xDrive25i engine can generate a peak power of 206 hp along with a peak torque of 246 Nm. Carrying a top speed of 210 km per hour, the petrol version of new BMW X3 is capable of breaking the speed barrier of 100 km/h in just 10 seconds.

      The lesser powered diesel version of the BMW X3 is blessed with a 2.0L turbo xDrive20d engine unit, which is able to offer a maximum output of 176 hp along with a peak torque of 350Nm. The top speed of the BMW X3 diesel model is 200 km per hour and it takes just 10 seconds to cross the speed mark of 100 km per hour.
