Nissan has launched the 2017 model year Micra for the Indian market and has priced it at Rs 5.99 lakhs for the XL petrol variant and Rs 6.62 lakhs for the XL diesel variant (all ex-showroom Delhi). The model year change sees the quirky hatchback get some cosmetic updates, but no major mechanical changes. To give you an idea of what one gets with the new car, here is a list of our top four things on the 2017 Nissan Micra.

      Rain sensing wipers
It’s a small update for the hatchback, but one that will surely add to both its comfort factor as well as its premium factor. These come on when it begins to rain, thus allowing you to keep your eyes on the road. The Micra is one of the first vehicles in that segment to get this feature.

      Automatic headlamps with follow-me-home function
This feature allows the Micra’s head lights to switch on automatically and even have a follow-me-home or as Nissan has termed it, lead-me-to-car function. This function keeps the headlights on for around 30 seconds when the car is switched off. There is also a button on the key fob to switch on the lights from a distance.

      New steering wheel
Nissan has updated the steering wheel of the Micra by replacing the previous three-spoke unit with a much larger one. The unit now gets audio controls as well buttons to control the telephone function. This is very similar to the wheel found in the 2017 Sunny.

      Updated cabin trim
The Micra is now offered only with a full black trim with a dual tone setup for the dashboard, door cards and of course, the seats. To continue with the sporty theme, Nissan has fitted the 2017 Micra with orange accents around the music system and the AC, door arm rests and around the gear lever.
