Volkswagen, the German luxury car manufacturer, is all set to launch the 2015 Jetta facelift in India tomorrow. The updated model will be locally assembled at Volkswagen’s Chakan manufacturing unit, near Pune. It will get changes to both exteriors and interiors; however, the mechanics of the sedan will remain unchanged.

The 2015 Jetta will continue to be offered in three trim levels- Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The petrol model is powered by the same 1.4-litre TSI unit that churns out a maximum power output of 122bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm. Power is transferred to the front wheels of the car via a six-speed manual gearbox. Its oil burner is the same 2.0-litre TDI turbo diesel motor that is good for 138bhp and a peak torque of 320Nm. Both the six-speed manual and twin-clutch DSG automatic transmission will be on offer.

The Volkswagen Jetta facelift gets an all-new front fascia with a new triple-slat chrome grille, flanked by restyled headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. It also gets revised bumper and new enclosure for fog lamps. The flared wheel arches of the sedan have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels; however, the side profile of the sedan remains unchanged. At the rear, the updated Jetta has new LED tail lamp cluster and slightly modified bumper.

Inside the cabin, the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta is equipped with a new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, new infotainment system with piano black surround and new upholstery. The sedan will rival against the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia.
