      2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class Coupe launched; priced at Rs. 76.5 lakh

      Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury carmaker, has launched the facelifted CLS-Class diesel in the Indian car market. The CLS250 CDI variant of the 4-door Coupe has been introduced in India at Rs. 76.5 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

      The exterior of the Mercedes CLS 250 CDI gets a new diamond grille from the A-Class, which is flanked by the new multibeam LED headlamps. The front gets a more muscular bumper that accommodates huge air intakes. Inside the cabin are the new multi-functional steering wheel and an 8-inch COMAND infotainment screen. The overall design layout and features of the car remains largely unchanged. The flared wheel arches of the coupe have been fitted to newly formulated multi-spoke alloy wheels.

      Inside the cabin, the new CLS Coupe gets an 8-inch screen with COMAND Online system and a Harmon Kardon Sound system with 14 speakers. It is equipped with several advanced features including 360 degree bird's eye camera, nine airbags, active parking assist, electronic stability programme, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, Anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, attention assist and many more.

      Under the bonnet is a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 207PS and a peak torque of 500Nm. This engine is coupled to a new 7-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission, which is claimed to improve fuel efficiency of the car. The car accelerates to 100kmph from zero in mere 7.5 seconds.
