      Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet launched; priced at Rs. 78.5 lakh

      Alongside the CLS sedan, Mercedes-Benz also launched the E-Class Cabriolet in India at Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) . Like the four-door Coupe, the Cabriolet arrives to Indian market via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Available in petrol version, the E-Class Cabriolet will target auto enthusiasts.

      Sharing most of the styling with the E-Class saloon, the Mercedes E400 Cabriolet features large three-pointed star at the centre of the grille. The front gets aggressive bumper with wide airdam, chrome grille, sharp looking LED headlamps with daytime running lamps. At the rear, the luxury car has two piece LED tail-lamps. The flared wheel arches of the Cabriolet have been fitted to sporty 18-inch twin 5-spoke alloy wheels.

      The E-Class Cabriolet is a two door car, which comes with an electric soft top that can be opened or closed at speeds up to 40kmph. Mercedes-Benz India has also introduced cloud-based applications for its cars including radio, Twitter and Facebook access. The E-Class Cabriolet is equipped with a host of safety and security features include nine airbags, active parking assist, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, electronic stability programme, tyre pressure monitoring, etc.

      Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 333PS and a peak torque of 480Nm. This engine is coupled to 7-speed 7G-tronic automatic gearbox. The Cabriolet accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 5.3 seconds and hits an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
