It really took a lot of time for Porsche to come up with a replacement of the Carrera GT, and why not it was among one of the best cars of its time. And no other car would be a more worthy successor of the Carrera GT than the Porsche 918 Spyder - a plug-in hybrid sportscar.  The green car promises a power output of 887hp for a peak torque of 1280Nm. And the tools it employs for this massive generation includes a centrally mounted V8 power mill and an electric motor. In terms of looks and style, it is absolutely exotic and exclusive with a low-slung body and an ultra-modern cabin.

And the highlighting thing about this Porsche car is – it is limited. Porsche rolled out only limited number of the 918 Spyder and the production halted in June 2015. As its name denotes, the company made only 918 units of the Porsche 918 Spyder. The hybrid car has been one of the fastest and most evolved models to be produced from Porsche’s stable. It is clear that the engineering team of this one lest no stone unturned in pushing the horizon of performance up and up. Despite being a green car it needs just 2.8 seconds to steer from 0-60mph speed mark.

The All-Wheel Drive system bestowed to this supercar plays crucial role in its stability over higher speeds. The steering is electrically controlled and gets stiffer as the speed increases. The braking system is sound and brings the car to halt within seconds as you push the pedal. The Porsche 918 Spyder really redefines the meaning of hybrid cars in the automobile world. Before the likes of this car and McLaren and Ferrari came around, the hybrid was solely defined by one name called the “Toyota Prius”. Their insanely expensive price tags are a sign that we need not be afraid of the future; the upcoming world of automobile will be greener and faster.
