Yamaha India has recently ushered a fuel efficient version of FZ bike in the Indian market. The same technological upgrades have also been carried to the new Fazer line rechristened as Fazer FI 2.0 version. The new bike has been launched at an attractive price tag of Rs. 83,850 (Ex-Showroom Delhi). The new Fazer FI 2.0 is stated to be based on new ‘Blue Core’ Generation Engine Development Ideal technology. With the new technology the bike is more fuel efficient and emits lesser pollutants.
The new Fazer FI 2.0 carries a downsized engine of 149cc as against the previous 153cc engine. The new engine though smaller, delivers impressive performance figures of 13.1PS of power and 12.8Nm of torque. The new bike is also stated to be lower in weight than the previous version. The new Yamaha Fazer FI 2.0 has been launched in three color options namely - Red Dawn, White Cloud and Black Hawk. Speaking more about the bike during launch, Roy Kurian, vice president, sales and marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said, “We realize the ever changing requirements and preferences for our Indian motorcycle users. A new segment of young people in cities not only use motorcycle for commuting but also as a lifestyle statement. When it comes to the deluxe segment especially, a motorcycle is chosen to reflect attitude, personality and style. Also, touring as a youth culture is evolving in India. With the development of modern highways and increasing popularity of motorcycle tourism, the interest in motorcycles suited for touring is certainly expected to increase. Acknowledging these dynamics, we have introduced our new offering Fazer FI Version 2.0 particularly keeping the spirit of touring in mind, combining both fun & economy for the customers to ride free in the open blue sky. Our FZ FI and FZ-S FI version 2.0 introduced in June’14, have been getting tremendous response and we are confident even the Fazer FI with our latest technology, ‘Blue Core’, will be heartily welcomed.”
The Yamaha Fazer FI 2.0 gets a redesigned chassis with upgraded front and rear suspension for a smoother ride quality. The instrument console has also been redesigned to carry a fresher appeal. The new bike gets better dynamics like 1990mm length, 760mm width, 1115mm height and seat height measuring about 790mm.
