Volvo Auto India, a domestic subsidiary of the Swedish luxury automotive marque, opened the doors of its first retail outlet in Bangalore on April 24, 2013. The new Volvo store is called 'Martial Motors Private Limited' and marks the arrival of premium auto maker in the country's IT capital. At present, the company is working on improving its sales and service network in the domestic market.

Volvo's new dealership- Martial Motors Private Limited is strategically situated on the Race Course Road, Bangalore. The world class facility is spread across an area of 7,000 sq. ft. and has a true Scandinavian luxury experience. The dealership's owners are identified as Saket Talwar, also the dealer principal of Volvo’s store in Hyderabad and Ritesh Reddy. Further, Reddy's family owns dealerships of Piaggio Commercial Vehicles, TVS bikes and Volvo-Eicher.

The new Volvo store would deliver the Swedish auto maker's promise of ‘Designed Around you’ in a true Scandinavian Luxury experience. The company would be selling its four models offered in the Indian market- S60 sports sedan and S80 luxury saloon, along with XC60 compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and the 7-seater XC90 premium SUV.

Expressing his views on the company's future projections for the domestic luxury car market, Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director (MD) at Volvo Auto India was quoted as saying, “The year 2013 has been very promising for us. In January, we began the year with record sales of year-on-year (YoY) growth of 188 per cent and recently closed the first quarter ending March with sale of 276 cars. This is yet another indication of Volvo Cars increasing strength in the Indian auto market as well as the continuing acceptability of our products amongst the patrons. March was a successful month for us, despite a challenging market and circumstances.”

On the new dealership, Ernberg added, “This is our first dealership in Bangalore. In line with its growth, Volvo Cars will continue with its expansion plan in India by adding to its existing network of dealerships across the country. We will touch a count of 12 dealerships with three showrooms opening in this quarter. With continuously increasing demand, Volvo Cars aims to bring its quality services closer to the customer. We aim to serve our customers better through greater accessibility.”
