Recently, Volkswagen has launched the new Polo hatchback in an all new avatar with a new diesel engine and cosmetic upgrades for the petrol version. Yet again, the carmaker has surprised its fan base in India with the limited edition of Vento sedan rechristened as Vento 'Konekt'. Speaking in detail about the new Volkswagen Vento Konekt during launch, Mr. Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. Said, “The package offers the latest in GPS navigation, Bluetooth telephony and social network connectivity. The Android-powered tablet at the rear also means that dozens of useful applications and games are never more than a click away. We’re sure that our customers will quite enjoy the Vento Konekt experience.”
The Limited Edition Volkswagen Vento Konekt is powered by existing line of petrol and diesel engine. The stylish sedan has been launched in Comfortline and Highline variants for Rs 8.02 lakhs and Rs 8.97 lakh respectively (Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi based). Interestingly, the prices are almost the same as the existing variants, indeed the car offers much more features at no additional costs.
The limited edition Vento Konekt is loaded with several advanced entertainment and connectivity features such as a GPS navigation enabled Blaupunkt infotainment system with hands-free function, 3G internet connectivity, Bluetooth telephony, and many more. The car features a high-resolution 7-inch TFT touch-screen colour display, USB connectivity and iPod/ iPhone compatibility and the latest Igo-Navtech maps for navigation into the centre console at the front. As part of Konekt package, the sedan gets Leatherette seat covers, ‘Konekt’ badging on the boot and the scuff plates.
The Volkswagen Vento Konekt also gets an interesting rear-seat Android powered Bluetooth enabled entertainment system that includes 8-inch Blaupunkt tablet with 3G-compatibility, Wi-Fi function and twin-SIM option. The HD colour display in the Tab allows the rear passengers to enjoy 16 channels of live television, check weather updates, listen internet radio and stay updated with the live stock market feeds etc. The tablet also has social media apps like Facebook and Twitter, Google Maps for navigation, video calling facility with a 3G data connection and Volkswagen app that helps in finding the company’s dealer/service centre.
