      German car-maker Volkswagen has been known for quality cars across all segments on a global level. The car-maker in a bid to gel with the local car-market has been making an effort to bring down the car prices by procuring spares that are manufactured in the local market. As per sources, the first ones to receive locally manufactured spares would be the Polo hatchback and Vento sedan.

      News has been doin rounds that the Vento may receive some fresh upgrades this time around and may be launched in the Indian market sometime in the second half of this year. The yet to be launched version of Volkswagen Vento is expected to be a 1.5 TDi engine that delivers a higher output at 104 Bhp. The powerful engine is expected to be mated to a DSG gearbox. The sedan is expected to received some internal changes that would furteher benefit the rear seat passengers. For entertainment at the back, the car shall feature individual screens that are embedded in the front headrest. The German car-maker shall add generous amounts of chrome in the interiors to make it look stylish. For safety, the sedan may come with additional set of airbags. Price and further deatils shall only be known post its launch.

      Recently, Volkswagen had also launched the 'Vento Preferred' at an attractive price tag of Rs. 10.74 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Mumbai). The Vento Preferred sedan is available in petrol as well as diesel variant and is stated to be based on the mid-level Comfortline trim. Under the hood, the Vento Preferred edition shall be powered by 1.6 Liter petrol as well as a 1.6 Liter diesel engine that is mated to five-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine is capable of generating a power of about 103 Bhp with 250 Nm of torque output, whereas the petrol version generates about 103 Bhp of power with a top torque output of about 153 Nm.

      To deliver a limited edition identity, on the exterior front, the Vento Preferred sedan gets a sleek trunk spoiler, door rub-rails, door sill garnish, chrome window embellishment and stylish side door visors. The stylish exterior is well complimented with the seven-spoken alloys. The interiors look lively and carries an upmarket feel. Volkswagen has also payed much attention to delivering better comfort and ample space to the occupants. The sedan gets a windshield mounted satellite navigation unit that additionally functions as a display for a reversing camera.
