Volkswagen’s upcoming full size SUV has been spotted in what seems to be one of the company’s premises in China. This all new offering will sit between the Tiguan and the Touareg and is expected to make its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
This new model was recently spotted in China where it will be sold with three powertrain options – a 3.6-litre V6, a 2-litre four-cylinder turbo with a hybrid and a 2-litre turbo unit. The vehicle will be manufactured in North America and in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. As expected in a car of this size, Volkswagen will offer its 4Motion all-wheel drive system as well.
While majority of carmakers are looking at compact crossovers as the next big thing, Volkswagen it seems is eyeing both compact and large SUV segments for more volumes. Having introduced its new global compact crossover – the Tiguan, VW is now working on this 7-seater SUV to compete with a bunch of European luxury carmakers.
