      Volkswagen India kicks off Mechatronics Apprenticeship Programme at Volkswagen Academy in Pune

      German carmaker Volkswagen has been known for bringing innovative technology in automotive sector that enriches lives across the globe. Guidance from global experts are definitely most sought after by newcomers who want to be a part of this global sector. With an aim to educate students with an aim to enrich lives Volkswagen India had initiated apprenticeship programme at Pune since 2011. Since then there has been no looking back and the course enabled 16 potential students to be enrolled every year.

      This time its the forth year when new batch of 16 apprentices have enrolled for three-and-half-year Mechatronics Apprenticeship programme that is based on the German dual system of vocational education and training. As per eligibility criteria students enrolling for this course need to have scored at least a minimum of about 70 per cent in Science and Mathematics in their 10th standard examination. The students are also required to clear a written test and a personal interview that was conducted by the training faculty of the Volkswagen Academy.

      The 16 students who have been selected are not required to pay any fees, but instead they get paid with a monthly stipend. Post completion of the course successfully, the apprentices are eligible to take up jobs at the Volkswagen plant in various departments. The course exposes students to both theoretical and practical knowledge and alongside also imparts interpersonal skills that aids in their overall growth. As per regulation 25% seats have been reserved for girls.
