Volkswagen Group, the German auto marque, is all set to carve a niche in the Indian auto sector as the company is planning to establish 25 training centres in the domestic market before the end of 2015. Speaking on these lines, the Director of Volkswagen Group, Dietmar Hildebrandt was quoted as saying, “We have 12 training centres across the country at present. We plan to touch 25 such units by 2015.”

Declaring the launch of its pioneer training centre in Eastern India at Dum Dum, the company official said that the new initiative of the auto maker will facilitate it to enhance the after sales service to its potential buyers. The first training centre of Volkswagen Group is opened in collaboration with JIS Group. It must be noted that Volkswagen Group owns some of the most appreciated brands of the world, namely Audi, Bugatti, Skoda, Volkswagen, Porsche, SEAT, Bentley, Lamborghini and a motorcycle brand, Ducati.

During 2012, the auto group delivered somewhere around 1.13 lakh units in the Indian auto sector, whereas the figures reached around 9 million units all over the world. With these figures, industry experts believe that the domestic share in Volkswagen’s worldwide sales is quite small, which might be a key reason behind the adoption of expansion strategies of German auto maker in the Indian market. Expansion in the count of official dealerships is also on the cards of Volkswagen Group, which is operating with just 230 outlets at present.
