Skoda the subsidiary of Volkswagen is planning to launch the new Laura in 2013. As per reports, the new car will be much larger than its predecessor. Developed on MQB platform, the new Laura will exceed Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf in terms of length. Apart from the longer version, the company also plans to introduce a shorter version of Laura.

The shorter version will be a perfect replacement for the current Laura. As far as the longer version of Laura is concerned, the company may position it between the entry level Laura and the Superb. This upcoming car may take inspiration from the Mission L and Vision D concept of Skoda for its styling. Active cruise control and automatic park assist are some of the advanced features, which will be provided in the Skoda Laura.

Existing version of Skoda Laura comes with 1968 cc diesel and 1798 cc petrol engines. The company provides height adjustable driver seats, rear centre armrest, and lumber support adjustment from passengers and drivers in the car. At present, the company offers the car with a price ranging from Rs. 13.60 lacs to Rs. 18.40 lacs. However, the Skoda has not confirmed any details regarding the price of new Laura, which is scheduled to be launched in 2013.
