Ahead of its official launch scheduled for sometime later this year, the vehicle was once again been spotted on test in the country. This time around, we have the interior shots that gives us a sneak peak on what to expect. Based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, the vehicle shares most of its components with the Tiguan. Interested customers can book one at a token amount of Rs 51,000.

As seen in images, the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq will get steering mounted controls, a DSG automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The dashboard sports a large eight-inch touchscreen system with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Offered as a premium SUV, the vehicle get features like engine start/stop button, dual zone automatic climate control, electric driver seat, electric tailgate and more.

Under the hood, the Skoda Kodiaq will be available in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol version will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 175bhp of power and 320Nm of peak torque. The diesel version is also powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit in two states - the first generates 146bhp of power and 340Nm of torque, while the other generates 185bhp of power and 400Nm of torque.

In terms of safety, the Kodiaq will get a host of equipment like six-airbags, ABS with EBD and more. Although the pricing aspect is not known for now, we believe it might be priced between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Post launch, the Kodiaq will compete against the likes of Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Toyota Fortuner in India.
