Maruti Suzuki India has been looking forward to hold on to its position in the Indian market. With a list of cars in the pipeline for the brand, car lovers and enthusiasts are ready to witness some surprises from the brand.
The first one expected to hit the markets will be the Maruti S-Cross. A minivan or MUV to be precise, this model is likely to be launched with a 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engine. The SUV and MUV segment has been a target by most manufacturers in the recent past and Maruti enters this category with the S-Cross model. It is expected to be priced in between 9 lakhs INR to 13 lakhs INR and is expected to make a debut in April 2015.
The manufacturer has lined up almost back-to-back launches in the Indian market. After the launch of this MUV, Maruti will unveil the Cervo, which is a hatchback. Priced at a mere 2.25 to 3.25 lakhs INR, this car is expected to target the small car segment. The carmaker had revealed that it is planning to launch approximately a dozen cars in the next five years and Cervo is supposedly the first one of them. The engine is expected to be the same as those of A-Star, Wagon R and the recently launched Alto K10. This car is expected to hit the markets by May 2015.
The diesel variant of Celerio is expected to be launched in June 2015. Celerio, launched in place of Estilo, has received a warm feedback and Maruti looks to cash in that opportunity with a new variant. Priced between 4.5 to 6 lakhs INR, the model is expected to soar above the rest and make a great impact in the hatch segment ahead.
Maruti Swift has been a clear winner for the company and now the company plans to launch a Sport variant. Priced at a competitive 7.5 to 8.5 lakhs INR, this model is expected to be one of the hottest hatch models to debut in India. Get ready to revolutionise the hatch segment with the much sportier version of Swift, which will hit the streets in July 2015.
When the concept of Maruti XA Alpha was unveiled, it created a lot of ripples in the industry. There had not been ever a car of this type from the brand. The wait is finally over and the XA Alpha is expected to hit the streets by July 2015. Interestingly priced between 6 to 10 lakhs INR, this model will directly compete against the likes of EcoSport.
