After being defeated by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) in previous year on the grounds of sales figures, TVS Motor, the fourth placed motorcycle manufacturer of India has come up with new plans. The company is all prepared to launch a performance oriented bike with appealing design, which is sure to lure the Indian buyers. Considering the photo published on the Facebook page of TVS with a tag line that read, “New Beast, same bloodline”, it seems that the two-wheeler maker is planning to introduce a successor of its iconic Apache.

With the launch of this new bike, the company will put an end to the customer’s demand for a 200 cc plus bike. It is speculated that TVS Motor will introduce such a model, which will be placed in 200 – 250 cc segment to deliver a decent competition to its rivals. The main rivals of this bike will include yet being launched Baja Pulsar 200 NS, KTM Duke 200 and the Yamaha YZF – R15. Since it’s been quite a long time that TVS Motors introduced a new offering in the market, the company is shifted to third position by HMSI who is betting high in the industry.

TVS Motor has the potential and capabilities of delivering advanced offerings, which are based upon the TVS racing line-up. The company officials have not mentioned any other details regarding their new bike. Since the technical information regarding the bike is not disclosed, it can be also possible that the company just merely launch a facelifted version of its current Apache RTR 180.

The current model of TVS Apache RTR 180 is assimilated with a four stroke engine that has a displacement of 1774 cc. The single cylinder arrangement in this engine churns out a maximum power of 17 bhp at 8500 rpm, whereas it attains peak torque at 15.5 Nm at 6500 rpm. Bore and stroke of this performance oriented engine are 62.5 mm and 57.8 mm, respectively. With these configurations, the company is required to launch an upgrade of this motorcycle, since it hardly stood against any of the strong contender in the auto market.
