Indian Two and Three wheeler auto maker TVS Motor Co. Ltd has put a positive foot forward at the start of this new year. The Chennai based automaker has recorded a growth in sales from 175,931 units last year in January to 186,313 units in the January this year. As per sources, the growth witnessed last month was nearly 6 percent.
Total two wheeler sales for January 2014 noted a 5 percent increase i.e 179,576 units as against 171,513 units recorded in January 2013 last year. Scooters sales have reported an increase to 45,198 units in January 2014 against 37,946 units recorded in January 2013. In terms of percentage, the chart moved up at 19 per cent in comparison to last year. Motorcycles sales have also seen a slight growth of 64,555 units in January 2013 to 65,449 units in January 2014. Domestic two wheeler sales accounted for 156,138 units in January 2014 as against 154,107 units registered in the same month of January last year.
Closing on Monday's trading at BSE showed 2.58 percent raise in comparison to the previous closing for TVS Motor Company. Last trading for TVS Motor Company on Monday was noted to be Rs.79.50. Three wheelers sales for the company noted by 52 percent hike, which is 6,737 units as against 4,418 units sold in the same month in the last year. Export figures have also been impressive with 28,875 units being sold in comparison to 20,723 units recorded last year for the same month. The growth noted was a good 39 percent. Two wheelers sales in the overseas markets have reported a 34.6 percent growth as compared to the previous year.
