TVS has launched Scooty Zest 110 automatic scooter in India priced at Rs 42,300 (ex-showroom Delhi). Displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo, Scooty Zest 110 automatic scooter is placed beneath Jupiter and Wego. Designed aesthetically the Scooty Zest 110 automatic is aimed at the young female customers. It has been learnt that TVS aims at selling 10,000 units of the new scooter in first month. From the point of view of design, it looks like a metamorphosed version of Scooty Pep+. Few highlights of Scooty Zest 110 automatic scooter include instrument console with white background, wedge shaped rear end with boomerang turn indicators.
Preeminent features such as LED taillight, open glove compartment, textured floor board, twilight lamps, backlit odometer and stainless steel muffler guard are equipped in the scooter.
Powering the scooter is the same 109.7 cc air-cooled engine that does duty in Jupiter and Wego. The engine is capable of developing top power of 8 PS along with peak torque of 8.7 Nm and is capable of returning an impressive fuel efficiency of 62 kmpl. A CVT gearbox is mated to the engine.
The scooter has a kerb weight of 97 kg and can rush from 0 to 60 kmph in 11.1 seconds. Fuel tank capacity of the new scooter is 5 litres and it also brags a storage compartment capacity of 19 litres. As far as dimensions are concerned, the scooter measures 1770 mm long, 660 mm wide, 1139 tall and has a wheelbase of 1250mm. Ride height stands at 760 mm.
Tubeless tyres are fitted on the front and rear side measuring 90/100-10 (front) and 90/90-10 (rear) respectively. A telescopic fork suspension in the front and a single shock suspension at the rear have been affixed. The front drum brakes measure 110 mm and rear drum brakes measure 130 mm.
In India, the new Scooty Zest 110 automatic scooter will compete with other scooters in its segment like Honda Activa, Honda Activa i, Honda Dio, Yamaha Ray, Suzuki Let’s and Hero Pleasure.
