Since the festive season is approaching, major auto companies are bringing in their new variants and models to lure domestic buyers. The latest addition that has embraced this trend is TVS Motor Company. The two-wheeler manufacturer recently announced that its models like Apache RTR 160 and Phoenix 125 will be available in new colour options. In the Phoenix 125, a dual tone Alpine White colour is now available, besides the new decals while Apache RTR 160 gets five single tone colours in the from of titanium grey, red, yellow, black and white with carbon fibre texture graphics. It must be noted that white colour with carbon fibre texture graphics was earlier available in Apache RTR 180 model.
As told by the company officials, both these models with their new colour options are now available across all TVS dealerships in India. The 125 cc bike of TVS comes equipped with a digital speedometer that illuminates in amber shade, a digital fuel indicator, low battery reminder, trip meter and service reminder. It also features aircraft inspired decals, roto petal disc brakes, LED pilot lamp, all black engine cover, alloy wheels and stitched dual texture cushion seat with premium upholstery.
Since the changes are only limited to visuals, both the bikes retain the same engine configurations. Apache RTR 160 boasts of a 159.7cc engine that has an ability to reach a peak power output of 15 bhp while generating a maximum torque of 13.1 Nm. On the other hand, the engine of Phoenix has a displacement of 125 cc and has a potential to churn out 10 bhp of peak power. Adding to the performance of these engine, both the bikes come equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission system. Also to mention, the prices for Apache RTR 160 and Phoenix 125 have remained unchanged with Rs. 66,250 for the former and Rs. 54,700 for the latter (all figures are ex-showroom, Mumbai).
In the meanwhile, TVS is riding high as the company disclosed its monthly figures for September in which it registered a 16 per cent growth in total sales. As told by the two-wheeler manufacturer, its total sales stood at 197,409 units in September 2013 as opposed to 170,097 units reported in year-ago period. In two-wheeler segment, the demand increased by 15 per cent from 165,092 units in September 2012 to 189,609 units in September 2013. Also to mention, the domestic sales recorded a growth of 13 per cent increasing from 149,191 units in September 2012 to 168,598 units in September 2013. During the month, TVS also added a new scooter to its current line-up. The latest offering of the company named Jupiter is targeted at luring male customers.
