The South Korean car maker, Hyundai, has been in news from quite some time regarding the launch of a facelifted model of Tucson in the compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment of the Indian industry. According to few spy shots, the yet-to-be launched has received several cosmetic upgrades over the older model. The former model of Tucson was named as ix35 in few markets like Europe and Australia.

The sneak peaks of the facelifted Tucson reveal that the car has undergone slight changes on its overall appearance; however its front fascia has been completely redesigned. The designing language used in the front portion seems to have been inspired from the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe. The images of new edition Tucson were first seen on the boards of Korean forums. Among the two images, the larger picture reveals an evolved ix35 Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) demo model, whereas the latter provides a glimpse of the new snout of the revamped car.

Since the FCEV model will be completely facelifted, it is highly dubious that the company will ignore the regular ix35. The compact SUV may also get a facelift with same look carried over from the revamped fuel-cell model. Leaving apart the six-point grille with chrome slabs, which is a typical Santa-Fe style, the new car will feature a restyled bumper, complemented by modified headlamps and new fog lamps. The rear end of the facelifted model is also expected to receive an overhaul; however, it is not clearly visible in the scooped shots.

On the other hand, there is a bleak chance that the model will sprinkle on the Indian roads once again; though nothing can be said as of now considering the dynamic nature of the auto market. The earlier model of the compact SUV failed to generate decent sales volumes, forcing the car maker to shelve the model in the Indian auto market. Despite this, Hyundai is still the second largest automotive giant in India, in terms of sales. Recently, the brand came into limelight for the buzz around its upcoming launch Hyundai Elantra Fluidic, which is available for pre-booking at Rs. 25,000.

With a handful of new launches, analysts believe that the car maker will soon create a dominant stand for itself by outpacing all its rivals in majority of segments.
