      Triumph set to light up market for two-wheelers in India

      It seems Indian auto market is on the radar of major companies as both bike and car manufacturers are actively expanding their operations in the country. Talking about super bike manufacturers, iconic British company, Triumph, is all set to introduce its offerings in India by the end of this year, reports have claimed. As announced by the company, it will start commencing its operations in the country from 28th November 2013. Triumph has already generated a lot of interest since its first appearance at the 2012 Auto Expo, which was held in New Delhi. The company even revealed that it would place its models aggressively in the Indian market so as to compete with rival Harley-Davidson, which at present is making significant inroads in the country.

      As far as line-up of Triumph models are concerned, it is expected to bring in entry-level to top-end super bikes that include Bonneville and Street Triple. Going by reports, Triumph will introduce Bonneville, Street Triple, Daytona 675 and Speed Triple in the Indian market. Talking about Bonneville model first, it shall get an 865 cc air-cooled engine that generates maximum power of 67 bhp at 7500 rpm while attaining peak torque of 67 Nm at 5800 rpm. On the other hand, the powerful Speed Triple model will make appearance in India deriving power from a 3-cylinder 1050 cc liquid-cooled powertrain that makes power that equals to 133 bhp at 9400 rpm alongside a peak torque of 110 Nm at 7750 rpm.

      Earlier, the iconic bike manufacturer said that it would bring four bikes in Indian through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and 3 by Completely Unit Route (CBU) route. However, with fluctuation in the value of Rupee against Dollar, it remains to be seen whether or not the company might stick to its plan. At the launch event, Triumph will official reveal its line-up of products in India along with their prices. According to industry experts, the expected prices that the company announced at the 2012 Auto Expo might go up as the higher import duty rates might affect the pricing strategy. Also to mention, details regarding the dealership network and service centres will be announced by the company at the launch event.

      One of the most anticipated bike of Triumph in India, Rocket III, is expected to feature in the product line-up meant for India. The famous touring bike comes with power packed performance and features as it gets a massive 3-cylinder 2294 cc engine that reaches its maximum power of 105 bhp at 6000 rpm and 202 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm.

      The company will start its operations in India through the Manesar facility, wherein the bikes will be assembled and manufactured. Under the dealership network, cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai will be covered first followed by Pune. According to sources, each and every dealer of Triumph will offer spares and accessories support apart from service facility. In order to establish a good rapport with Indian buyers, the company shall be offering a wide range of riding gear and accessories for customers in India.
