Triumph, one of the leading motorcycle makers, has finally unveiled its 2014 line up of Bonneville, Thruxton and Scrambler models. The changes made in the new generation models majorly revolve around the design that are more appealing than the 2013 line up. In the new models, Triumph has come out with new colour options and other cosmetic changes.
Interestingly, the 865 cc engine of 2014 Bonneville remains unchanged from that of 2013 version. The 2014 model is seen with a 17-inch front wheel, a remodelled exhaust system, a lower seat (740 mm) and redesigned fuel tank decals, apart from new colours. Available in shades of phantom black, lunar silver or crystal white/sapphire blue, the retro-styled 2014 Triumph Bonneville is offered with a new badge. After analysing the modifications, experts suggest that the black version is supposed to get black-out paint for wheels, suspension components, handlebars, mudguard stays, grab rail and mirrors, among others. For better ergonomics, the motorcycle features redesigned seat and there is also a standard fitted grab rail.
Triumph has also incorporated machined cooling fins and minimized oil cooler lines on the engine barrel blocks and cylinder heads. These changes in 2014 Bonneville are expected to “accentuate the classic British twin engine.” Sources close to the development process revealed that the Triumph has given 2014 Thruxton new aluminium wheels, chrome chain guard and colour-matched fly screen.
Industry experts are of a view that bikers are going to love the revised exhaust system that is louder than the previous version along with a sportier riding position. Also, the re-engineered megaphone silencer gives it a more liberating sound. Along with a blacked out oil cooler, 2014 Thruxton also receives machined finish on the cylinder head cooling fins, similar to the 2014 Bonneville. The new version is available in shades like phantom black and brooklands green. The new gold stripe details gel with the seat cowl as standard equipment.
The 2014 Triumph Scrambler also receives blacked-out treatment. The oil cooler lines, handlebars, rear master cylinder reservoir cover, wheel rims and hubs, all look classy in black treatment. The redone seat along with an anodised aluminium engine bash plate adds to the aesthetics of the new version of this classic motorbike. The 'Triumph' logo embossed on the seat also adds to the overall appearance of the bike. As per sources, the colours in which the new Triumph Scrambler will be available are Matt Pacific Blue and Lunar Silver / Diablo Red combination.
With these new models unveiled, the British motorcycle manufacturer aims to grab a stronghold in the two-wheeler space. Also, as per industry experts, the motorcycle enthusiasts are quite keen about the new bikes, which have created an upbeat mood at the Triumph head quarters.
