The Toyota Safety Sense C feature operates efficiently with speeds of up to 50 Mph and is capable of reducing speed by about 19 Mph seconds before the impact. Owing to this, the impact of the vehicle would be softer as the impact would occur at speeds of about 31 Mph. The Toyota Safety Sense P, apart from pedestrian detecting feature that avoids hitting while doing speeds of about 19 Mph, the device is also capable reducing speeds by about 25 Mph when the vehicle is moving at a higher speed.

Speaking more on the occasion, Moritaka Yoshida, Toyota's chief safety technology officer said, “There is a limit to reducing the number of fatalities through passive safety. We must also focus on active safety. When it comes to improvement in this area, it is moving very fast. These kinds of safety technologies are effective only when in wide use, so we are taking the first step.”
