Toyota cars have also been becoming popular with delays in deliveries getting longer. The company has stopped taking bookings for Fortuner once again in India. It intends to clear the Fortuner backlog first before taking on fresh bookings. Toyota Corolla and Innova also have waiting period of at least 4-6 weeks. “We are facing limitations at our first Bangalore plant and are looking at maximising our production capacity. There are no plans to further hike the capacity,” Nakagawa said to a newspaper. Customers may end up paying a premium price for Toyota products.
