Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), the Indian unit of Japan based leading luxury car maker Toyota is aiming to register about 100 percent growth in its sales in the calendar year 2011. The company plans to sell 1,50,000 units of its cars in Indian during this year as compared to 74,759 units sold in the last calendar year. TKM had registered a growth of over 38 percent in the calendar year 2010.

As per the company, these high projections are based on the higher sales of its leading India portfolio models including multi utility vehicle (MUV) Innova, premium sedan Corolla Altis, sports utility vehicle (SUV) Fortuner and the latest Etios sedan. Moreover, the company is expecting volume sales from its upcoming compact hatchback Etios Liva that will be rolled-out in the Indian market in April 2011. The Liva model is expected to emerge as the highest-selling Toyota car in the Indian market within a few initial months of its launch.

The Etios model has received an overwhelming response from the buyers in the country and the company has managed to receive over 18,000 bookings for this car across India, so far. The company has increased its dealership network to 150 dealers from 100 dealers in year 2010.
