      American car-maker Ford has emerged as the new dark horse in the Indian automotive circuit. In recent times, Ford has been competing across SUV, hatchback and sedan segments. Improved technology, efficiency and reliability has boosted the sales for the company. Auto Expo events have been known in the past to generate good amount of sales. The event provides with a great platform for new launches and Ford intends on banking over this factor to showcase its upgraded fleet of cars.

      Ford unveiled a fresh face of its Fiesta sedan at the recently held Auto Expo 2014 event. The new Ford Fiesta has only received some cosmetic upgrades this time around. The sedan has retained the existing 1.5 Litre petrol engine that generates about 108 Ps of power, whereas the diesel version generates about 90 Ps of power. The petrol engine has been mated to 5 speed manual transmission and 6 speed automatic transmission. For now, the diesel version shall only be mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

      Ford Ecosport, the compact SUV is available in petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version is powered by 1.5 Litre and 1.0 Litre petrol engine that generates about 112 Ps of power with 140 Nm of torque and 125 Ps of power with 170 Nm of torque respectively. The diesel version is powered by 1.5 Litre engine that generates about 91Ps of power with 204Nm of torque. The 1.0 Liter petrol variant delivers around 18.9 kmpl, the 1.5 Liter petrol variant delivers around 16.15 kmpl and the diesel variant with 1.5 liter engine delivers around 22.7 kmpl. The compact SUV gets a EPAS with Pull Drift Compensation technology for steering for maximum control. For a comfortable ride, the car gets Independent McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar for the front, whereas the rear gets Semi-independent twist beam with twin gas and oil filled shock absorbers.

      American automaker Ford had announced the arrival of 2014 edition Figo with in-car connectivity feature, commonly known as Wi-Fi. The feature is available under a 'Special Value Pack' offer by the company that can be availed at an additional cost of Rs. 9,790. The additional cost covers charges for a dongle, color coordinated seat covers and LED interior lighting. As per sources, the company has also introduced a new shade called "Mars Red" to its existing line up colors available on this particular version. The 2014 car shall be available in EXi, ZXi and Titanium versions. The company aims at selling this car through an interesting campaign known as “Smart is the New Cool” theme. The new Ford Figo has retained 1.2 Litre petrol and 1.4 Litre diesel engine. The petrol version generates about 71 Ps of power with 102 Nm of torque, whereas the diesel version generates about 16 Ps of power with 160 Nm of torque. As per ARAI test results the petrol version delivers a fuel efficiency of around 15.33 kmpl, whereas the diesel version delivers around 19.99 kmpl.
