Tokyo Motor Show 2017: Nissan Leaf to get a faster twin, the Nismo

Japanese car manufacturer Nissan revealed the Leaf’s faster twin, the Leaf Nismo Concept at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show 2017. The company claims that the upcoming second generation model of the Leaf EV will be better performing, faster and visually appealing than the older model. The vehicle will also get a custom-tuned computer which will offer instant acceleration at all speeds.

Based on what can be seen, the Nissan Leaf Nismo Concept was showcased in its trademark combination of white paintwork with red accents on bumpers and sills. The vehicle also gets two-tone wheels, large black strip on the bonnet and a black roof. The new model gets high-performance tyres and sport-tuned suspension system. Moreover, reports indicate that the new model generates 38 per cent more power and 26 per cent additional torque as compared to the older model.

As for the interior, the new Nissan Nismo will get sporty red accents around the air-con vents, upholstery door panels and the start button. The vehicle also features the Nismo logo to differentiate it from a regular model. The Nissan Leaf Nismo is expected to GO up on sale sometime in 2019.
