In yet another move to revive the sales figures of its small car Tata Nano, the Indian auto giant Tata Motors is offering the car with a heavy discounts. The car maker had offered special vehicles with signature of group chairman Ratan Tata on the dash board of the car. Earlier, the company had offered zero interest loans to company employees who were interested in buying the car.
According to the recent media reports, the company is looking forward to attract large number of customers to buy the Nano by offering a discount of over Rs 25,000. However, the discount has been offered only on the top end variant of the car that is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.11 lakh in the country.
Meanwhile, the recent incidents of Tata Nano catching fire have further damaged the already spoiled safety image of the car. Last year too, Tata Nano model was in the news due to at least six incidents of Nano catching fire in different cities of the country. Though later, the company has offered a free safety kit with the car to make sure the full proof safety and zero possibility of any issue with the engine compartment.
Tata Motors has recently started selling its small wonder in a few neighboring markets of India including Nepal and Sri Lanka.
