TECHFEST, a unique initiative by Tata Motors, is a forum that is intended to train around 25,000 technicians employed in automotive giant's 1300 authorised service stations and commercial vehicle dealerships. This program is aimed at upgrading the skills of these technicians in order to deliver an enhanced servicing to customers.
The largest automobile manufacturer in India, Tata Motors plans to update its technicians with latest developments in the service technologies to serve customers better. It also intends to understand the training needs to ensure prompt and quality service. Technicians were guided through lubricants, electrical of vehicles, safety, troubleshooting, identification and specification in the first edition of TECHFEST.
This initiative by the Tata Motors is a five stage event comprising technical and theoretical tests to analyse the existing skill level of technicians. These tests help in gauging the expertise level of technicians and also in designing advanced training modules. With these training modules, technicians are made familiar with technical know-how of specialised tools that adds to their knowledge and skills. Through TECHFEST, Tata Motors also promotes healthy competition by recognising and awarding best talent.
