Tata’s much awaited hatchback is finally due to hit roads this month. The Indian based manufacturer has been a strong name in the country’s automobile market and the upcoming Bolt on January 20 shall further boost its presence in the domestic market. Dealers have begun accepting bookings for the Bolt hatchback at a token amount of about Rs. 11,000. The design is indeed impressive and gives Tata a new approach. The Bolt hatchback has been a joint effort of Tata engineers based in Tata Motors design studio spread across Pune (India), Turin (Italy) and Coventry (UK).
Speaking about safety aspect in the new upcoming Tata Bolt, the vehicle gets Corner stability control, Anti Lock Braking system, dual airbags and corner stability control. A top power output of about 75 Ps with 190 Nm of torque is rendered by Fiat’s multi-jet 1.3 Liter diesel engine, whereas power output of about 90 Ps with 140 Nm of torque is rendered by its 1.2 Liter turbocharged petrol engine. The hatchback offers three drive modes namely – City, Eco and Sport. The front wheel drive mechanism is powered by five speed manual gearbox.
